Detailed Description : Tattooist Amber Thorpe, printmaker Dax Morrison, an assistant and myself produced a succession of limited edition prints taken from a freshly tattooed design on my chest. The tattooist and printmaker received the following instructions:
‘Prints to be repeatedly pulled from the same tattooed area, the number of pulls to be determined by the printmaker.’
The action took place on a stage measuring eight feet by eight feet, and made of pink insulation covered by layers of drywall. Researching the archives of the NSCAD Library regarding the Lithography Workshops from the 60-80s was the inspiration for the tattoo/print edition.
